Step 2 of 4
Deploy my app
Paste the address of your own private copy on GitHub. This page makes your personal Deploy to Render button, or the settings to paste into another host.
1. Deploy
- Sign in to Render, or create a free account.
- Let Render read your repository . You can limit it to just that one.
- Give the Blueprint a name, such as
workletto. It’s only a label in your Render account. Leave Branch and Blueprint Path as they are. That’s all you type: Render makes your app’s setup code itself. - Check the estimate at the bottom: Render shows the monthly total, $14.50, before anything is created. Then click Deploy Blueprint.
- On your host, create an app from . It builds from the
Dockerfilein your copy and listens on port3000. - Add a Postgres 17 database. Most hosts offer one next to your app.
- Add these settings to the app, with your database’s connection address and your app’s address in place of the two values in angle brackets:
- Make sure the app’s address uses HTTPS. Most hosts set this up for you. Install on another host has the details.
The settings include your setup code and a new secret that signs people in. Both are made in your browser and never sent to us. Keep them out of shared documents.
Your setup code
It’s also in the settings above. Keep it in your password manager until your admin account exists: you’ll paste it into your new app.
2. Create your admin account
When the build finishes (about 4 minutes on Render), open your app’s address. On Render it ends in .onrender.com. Enter the setup code, then create your admin account. On Render, the setup page has a button, Open Render to copy your setup code, that takes you straight to it. After that the code is no longer needed.
