What Workletto is

Workletto is time tracking, project management and invoicing for small studios, agencies and consultancies. It’s free and open source: you install it in your own hosting account and run it yourself.

What it does

Section titled “What it does”
  • Time tracking. A timer, hours typed in by hand, and a weekly timesheet.
  • Clients and projects. Hourly rates for a project or for each person, budgets in hours or fees, and a team for each project. Projects also have tasks.
  • Expenses. Costs on a project, billable or not.
  • Reports. Hours and money by client, project, person or task, for any period, with a CSV of every entry.
  • Invoices. Made from a client’s billable time and expenses. Save them as PDF and mark them sent and paid.
  • People. Invite your team as Admins, Managers or Members.
  • Import and export. Your time from Harvest’s detailed time report, and your data out as CSV files.
  • Your branding. Your logo, accent color, app name, and light or dark mode.

What “you own the install” means

  • It runs in your hosting account. Render by default, or your own server with Docker. The code sits in a private GitHub repository in your account, where you can read it and change it.
  • Your data is in your own database. Time entries, clients, invoices, people and passwords are stored in your own Postgres database. The app doesn’t send your data to us, and it has no usage statistics and no license check. Your hosting provider runs the server and the database, so it can reach your data too. Where your data is kept explains what we can’t see and how to check it yourself.
  • It keeps running without us. There’s no license key, no account with us and no end date. Your copy runs for as long as your hosting account does.
  • One install is one organization. Setup creates your organization and its first admin. Everyone you invite joins that organization.

What it costs

  • Nothing. Workletto is free and open source, under the MIT license. No subscription and no per-person fee.
  • Hosting is separate and paid to your host. On Render it is about $14.50 a month ($7 for the app + $7.50 for its database with 5 GB of storage), as checked in October 2026. Prices may have changed.
  • No support desk. You run your copy. When something doesn’t work, Change Workletto with an AI coding assistant shows how to have it fixed. If Workletto saves you work, you can support the work with a donation.

Good to know

Section titled “Good to know”
  • Email is optional. Until an admin connects a mail server, Workletto sends no email: you copy invite links and send them yourself, and save invoices as PDFs from your browser. See Send email from the app.
  • Online payments are optional. Connect your own Stripe account and clients can pay invoices online, straight to you. Otherwise you click “Mark as paid” when a client has paid you some other way. See Online payments.
